Syracuse, located in Central New York State, is a wonderful city and their Polish Festival is nothing less than SPECTACULAR! Here are a few photos and videos of my visits to the festival in 2011 and 2012. Be sure to come back to this page after the festival for updates.

Syracuse, N.Y. -- The pierogi eating contest is back for the 2017 Polish Festival, which will be June 23 to 25 in Syracuse's Clinton Square. The contest is at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 25.

Miss Polonia will be crowned at 3 p.m. Sunday. The contestants are: Carolina Creighton, Alexia Marczynski, Sophie Popiel and Amy Zurawski.

The festival raises money for the Polish Scholarship Fund, which awards $1,000 scholarships to 10 high school and college students of Polish descent.

This year's winners will be recognized at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 24. The recipients are:

The festival schedule is from 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Friday, June 23; noon to 10:30 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Friday, June 23
Noon - Polish Flag Raising Ceremony at Syracuse City Hall
4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Festival Opening Ceremony followed by John Spillett - Quartet
5 p.m. - 6 p.m. Noisy Boys Band
6 p.m.- 7 p.m. John Steven's Doubleshot Band
7 p.m. - 7 :15 p.m. "Pole of the Year " Award announced for Colonel Richard J. Sloma followed by John Steven's Doubleshot Band
8 p.m. - 8:15 p.m. Miss Polonia presentation
8:15 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. The Destination Band
